FuNkY FasHion+Hot TraCks = TEyaNa TaYloR

Soo...I'm sure You've heard of her before now if you like to keep up with all the new hotness in music and fashion..Miss Teyana Taylor caught everyone's eye as being the most fashionable Sweet Sixteener on MTV...We noticed her individual style by not only in Fashion but her approach in her music style. She rocked a fly Heatherette dress that was memorable and crushed every other girls that had a blinged out b-day before hers. Okay so I'll admit I forgot about her and really didn't think she was going to put out any real hot tracks tracks but I was highly surprised ( I should have known since she is Pharrell's prodigy). Her down to earth attitude, Skater Chic appeal and catchy lyrics are showing a promising future for Miss Taylor. I caught her video for her new single " Google Me Baby" on 106&Park the other day and I have to admit it was a cute & fun carnival theme video. She is becoming more of a style icon these days though. Her fashion is a good represenative of her music. I have to admit I've been jammin' to Teyana's "Google me Baby" and "Traffic Stop" while walking through downtown Chi on my i-pod getting hype for my oh so exciting classes. I've also her a snippet of "Swag" which is a hot track also. Her style is Fly and it matches her music and her personality. You could tell her style comes very naturally to her and it represents who she is. That is an important element these days, since so many people in the spotlight try to rock an image that is clearl not for them..hmm(A good Girl Gone Bad)..Oh and I love her naturally curly hair she rocks "oh so hard!'..So oh Girl keep holding it down..Because you're Fresh! God Bless!

GoinG NatUraL

Soo I'm in Indianapolis at Home for a couple days before I head back to The Chi. I decided on my break to experiment with my hair because I clearly have ADD when it comes to my looks. So I've always wanted to rock natural for a couple years now...but I was to paranoid on the feedback I would get and the actual responsibility for doing my hair( lazy, I know!) I've been growing out my natural hair for about a year and half but have just been rockin' micros and a sew in. So after perms, micros , texturizers and one rough sew in.. I said bump it I'm about to rock the hell out my natural hair! God blessed me with this hair so it has to fit my face...I was born with it!So before I took my sew in out I was so confident that I would love it! and I did. But as much as Natural Hair is a physical change its just as much mental! You have to adjust your own perception of beauty and truly embrace your own identity! So after having mental & emotional breakdowns( I'm Just Dramatic, don't mind Me!) I truly loved my curly coils! I always admired and loved sistahs rockin' natural styles... but when it came to me I questioned if I liked it. Now a couple days later I'm truly loving it! I just feel so free and I'm truly representing what I stand for everywhere I go. Advice for anyone trying to adapt to natural hair do a mental makeover first and alot of mirror time. Im excited with all the styles I can rock...this is what I'm currently rocking now...It was a twist out that I just pinned down on the crown of my head..

Okay Sooooo Since Im now mentally adapting to my Natuaral Mane ...Time for learning Hair care!!!!!! Okay I can already tell my major issue is going to be moisture. I rocked a puff a couple days ago and whe I left my puff was nice, juicy and moist...when I came back I promise you could hear the crunch as I squeezed down on it! The products I used to wash my hair was the New Creme of Nature Kiwi & Citrus Moisture- Active Shampoo and The New Creme of Nature Healing Conditioner. Both products worked well. I love the scents of both shampoo and conditioner. I used and Olive Oil deep conditioner which work pretty good. I don't think I left it in long enough. We'll see how these products continue to hold up! I have a gut feeling Im going to be a product juknie(which I don't need to be b/c Im a struggling college student!)So I'm officially on a daily moisturizer hunt!Feel free to send me any suggestions!

Fly, Fresh Or FoolishNesS

FLy FasHion Spots

Alright...So im about to leave ATL tonight, So I decided to post a couple Fashion Spots while Watching Dave Chappelle's Block Party;) So to be honest I never really was a fan of Atlanta too much maybe because I have a bad itch ( towards the south (personal reasons) but I was highly surprised by new shopping opps! Okay So we went to an area called "5 PoinTs' which consists of extremely funky, vintage and fresh clothing styles. The area was thriving off of different unique styles and fly swag. You could spend an entire afternoon in this area just stopping in different spots ,stop by a smoothie spot and continue your fashionista journey! The whole entire feel was inviting to anyone who loves to create their own style lane in life..From tatted peeps,to the afrolicious sistahs with her loc mate to the punk rock, 80's retro style were all welcomed!

Okay..so of course I had to spend a little something (which I really did not need ;) Aah Im a slave to fashion..I know! Soo one of the spots that caught my eye was a cute funky boutique called "Cherry Bomb" It was a cute spot with Betsey Johnson inspired dresses and on the the other side were strictly shoes( which all the shoes I tried on were under $50! Yeah!) The customer service was well, they weren't to overbearing like most boutiques are. So I was debating between a blue short rope tie halter dress and a deep cut v-neck gray dress which also had the cut in the back also. The blue halter dress allowed me to feel extremely flirty and bossy with the match of the perfect open to shoe. The v- neck dress allowed me to feel feminine, sexy( which doesn't really matter because I'm single beyond belief!) and form fitting but still fly. So I was in a life crisis in the fitting room!! So one of my besties Mimi was with me and I asked her opinion ..she gave me a description of what each dress projects but it didn't allow me to pick one . Okay CallinG Back Up!!! hmm PAging... the very sassy sales associate who's rocking her curly natural hair , feminine tats on her arms, short boho dress and reciting each word to the the neo-rock song that was blasting .... I need Your Help!!! She helped me decide which one I would probably get more use out of...sooooooo I went with...................................the Gray V- Neck Dress! Yeah! I was content with my choice and even more content when they rang up my seductive ut casual dress.. Total ..$42 something with tax..It was originally $39... Yeah 2 Me For SpendinG On A budgEt...Okay I'll hit up new posts soon!! Love ...Live.. Laugh..God Bless!!

BaCkGrOund

Ok My FlY PeOplE....ThanK God I FinAllY Finished my finals to finish last quarter!! Great Now SpriNg BreaK Time!!!!!! I'm actually in The ATL which is a nice change of pace of The Chi. In a day or two I'm going to upload pics and give you a little insight on my southern getaway .But first I want to give a rundown of the purpose of my Blog. Okay I Chose the name Chasing Fame for my blog. When I recently moved to Chicago in January, I soon realized that numerous people were on their grind to make it in whatever industry they want to try to take over. Either in the music indusrty, fashion industry or anything that will get them closer to those "FlaShiNg LighTs." Now it is extremely motivating to be surrounded by individuals who are truly chasing their passion because they truly have a love for it. On the other hand , they're also a good group of individuals who have lost focused of their passions and begin to just bolt for every opportunity that does not even pertain to their dream. It truly becomes an addiction to many to have some sort of fame or just some type of public notice. At the end of the day people crave the spotlight and fame. Individuals try to chase they're happiness by Chasing fame.....Just remember by 'I f you are who you say you are You're a Superstar.." ( spit by the ill lyricist of Mr. Fiasco) Just begin to live, breathe your passions and don't sell your soul for it. If you stay true to yourself , TRUST ME, everything will eventually fall in place and you will truly love life each day it comes....Love..Laugh..Live..God BlEss!
