Throwback Poetry

Wow.. so I was going through some of my old,old work and ran into this poem from 2006...its funny to read and evoke emotions from the past.. I have to admit some parts are a bit cheezy but the lines that are bold were my favorite lines of the piece


"A Moment In Time"

For A Moment

For A Moment in time
He held my heart and poured out his soul
He peeked into my future
And became the arm that helped me reach my goals

For A Moment

For A Moment in time
He was my educator
Who taught me patience is better than pride
And was a pure example of
Everything being beautiful in its own time

For A Moment

For a moment he was the absence of my pain
He inherited my weakness
Broke them down
Built them up
And my weakness soon became his strength

For A Moment

For A Moment in Time
He was the perfect image of his Creator
His mind, body, and spirit was on one accord
Which was displayed in his Godly behavior

For A Moment

For A moment in time
He became my vision
He stripped me of my sight
His power was so deep
That I couldn't tell if it was day or night
But when he gave it back
My outlook completely changed
He left me with pure joy and he endured all of my pain

For A moment

A precious moment

And as I fought myself to not let this precious moment go
All I could do was open my trembling lips and slip out a silent……. "hello?
